About us
The Tuning Turtle is led by Gastón Reggio, a Certified Piano Technician trained at the Piano Technician Academy and a professional musician offering piano tuning and repair services throughout Durham, Raleigh, and the Triangle area.

With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, Gastón holds a degree in Brazilian Music & Jazz from the Conservatory of Tatuí in Brazil. He has performed internationally, and continues to work actively as a performer both locally and on tour. He has also released two albums of original compositions, Do Interiô (2019) and Michigan (2024). In 2023 he received a National Award in Uruguay for Best Jazz-Fusion Composition.

Beyond his musical background, Gastón also developed a strong foundation in manual craftsmanship while working in a Lathe Shop in Uruguay. This experience strengthened his precision, patience, and attention to detail he now brings into every tuning and repair.
​The Tuning Turtle is intentionally kept small. Because music remains Gastón’s primary career, he operates the piano service business with low overhead, which allows him to offer high-quality work at a more reasonable price. Keeping the business simple means he may not offer certain convenience services (such as electronic payment processing), but it also ensures that every dollar goes directly into the work itself, not into unnecessary expenses.
